Roverandom

Roverandom is a charming children's fantasy written by J. R. R. Tolkien. The story follows Rover, a small dog who annoys a powerful wizard and is magically transformed into a toy. Unable to return to his normal life, Rover embarks on an extraordinary adventure to break the spell. His journey takes him across magical lands, beneath the sea, and even to the Moon, where he meets dragons, wizards, mermaids, and other fantastical creatures. Along the way, Rover learns valuable lessons about courage, patience, kindness, and perseverance as he searches for a way to become a real dog again. Originally written by Tolkien to comfort one of his sons after losing a toy dog, Roverandom combines humour, imagination, and the rich storytelling that would later make Tolkien famous for The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
